I'm cut. Mine works fine, as far as I know...
I had a classmate that had a botched circumcision at infancy. After seeing him in the lockerroom, and what he wasn't left with, I won't have my sons circumcised at birth.
They will be taught the importance of cleanliness. And unless they keep their tools clean, they'll be sent to the guillotine!

That's a rather Watchtower-like sweeping generalization. Try actually reading the OT before defending it.
Read the account in Judges 19 & 20. Go on, really read it. Who would dare to say that sex crimes, kidnapping, and murder hardly ever occurred in Israel. Makes Sodom and Gomorrah look rather tame, eh?
Also, did you ever hear of King David? Remember his son Amnon and daughter Tamar? Read 2 Samuel chapter 13. The son of the king RAPED his own half-sister.
Want more examples? READ THE BOOK! God had this written so that we know what to expect from his rulership, right? This is the God that Jesus prayed to as his spitting-image father, right?
I realized that the more I studied the Bible, the less I found to have faith in. I do believe in a higher power, but the God of the Jews I don't believe in anymore.

JW came into work today.
by noni1974 ini was at work in my office as my boss jokingly calls it.a lady walk in to get 2 tires she had ordered put on.i have her sit down to wait because all of my bays were full.i noticed she was reading a small paper bound book.she was underlining it as she read.i got the feeling she may be a jw.i wanted to ask her but i didn't.my number one job at work is to make customers feel comfertable and i thought telling her i'm a raging apostate might make her feel uncomfertable being in the same room with me.. when she opened her walet to give me her visa card i saw the blood card.it confirmed my suspitions of her.. you will be happy to know i got my apostate cooties all over her service car and visa card..

Moshe, great idea! I know that disrupting your own business by anti-witnessing would cause a problem. We should get as much JW cash as the next business. Leaving something to be found later, when they don't know where it came from, and unknowingly come back for more... priceless!

JUST FINISHED talking to my dad, & wow, what a door knob he is.

i posted previously that i wrote my parents a heart-felt letter, an after-months-of-fighting-letter, my dad responded, i wrote back 2 times and he didn't respond for 2 and a half weeks.
so yesterday, i called him to ask if he got my last two emails and he was short with me and nervous and wierd, i don't know why i expected different.. today he called back to say how sorry he was for being short and nervous and wierd, that he was up all night because he was rude and he knew it, his words.

Welcome BT!!! Glad to hear you didn't waste your youth... like I did.
Suggestions? As already mentioned, hang out where other people are interacting, deprogram the JW preachy mentality, and learn some non-judgemental social skills. And if you want to meet people, find a cause and VOLUNTEER. Maybe a hospital, volunteer firefighters, relief agencies, etc. Try one for a while, and if it isn't a good fit, find another. It's a good way to meet giving, caring people.
You don't need to be in a big hurry. After all, it's not like the end is coming tomorrow

Throughout the history of man, woman has had very little say in how things are run. That is a troublesome fact of life, and I see no exception to this in Israel. It bears out the truthfulness of YHWH's statement to Eve that the man would dominate her. Take a look around and you will see the pathetic truthfulness of YHWH's prediction.
I don't mean this as a personal attack on you, Snowbird, or your faith. Currently, I'm going through my own speaking out against the injustices of the JWs and the Bible. The faith I'd defended has proven to me unworthy of my efforts. So, I'm overdue to speak up for what I've read and questioned in the Bible.
Actually, in Ancient Egyptian records, women had most of the same legal rights as men. Inheritance, divorce, property rights, women Pharoahs and business leaders, and remember the authority of Potiphar's wife. Here's a couple short examples or women's rights in Ancient Egypt in wikipedia:

No wonder the Israelites were eager to go back to Egypt, kept reverting to Egyptian calf worship, and wanted a powerful Pharoah-like ruler. Sounds like they needed more common-sense and fewer law-reading-sheep-burning-priests.
